The meeting between Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos and representatives of the Federation of Greek Fuel Retailers took place under favorable conditions, following assurances that the measure imposing a cap on profit margins, introduced as a consequence of international geopolitical developments and the war in Iran, will be temporary. In light of this development, it is very likely that the strike at petrol stations, which Federation representatives had announced, will not proceed.

“The minister assured us that the cap will not be in effect after June 30th,” Federation President Michalis Kiousis told Vima immediately after the meeting concluded. “If it continues, we will have a problem. We won’t be viable,” he stressed.

At this time, the Federation president is briefing his colleagues on exactly what was discussed, so they can decide whether or not to proceed with any mobilisations.
