Greek traffic police are activating nationwide safety measures along the country’s major roadways ahead of the mass Easter exodus, expected to begin this weekend for Orthodox Easter on April 12.

The measures will take effect on Friday, April 3, and remain in place through Sunday, April 19.

The operational plan includes enhanced traffic patrols at key points across the national road network, including entrances and exits of major urban centers, as well as at airports, ports, train stations, and bus terminals.

Police presence will also be heightened at high-risk sections along the road network. Additional measures will be implemented to ensure Easter-related religious events and public gatherings are carried out safely nationwide.
