The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) has received another major distinction, reaffirming the excellence of its academic and research staff on the global stage.
Seventeen faculty members of AUEB are featured in two internationally recognized lists published by Stanford University. The study, “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”, draws on Scopus data and evaluates the scientific output of millions of researchers worldwide.
It identifies the top 2% based on citations, the h-index, and composite impact measures. Researchers are ranked across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields, following the Science-Metrix classification.
The evaluation highlights those with the greatest global research impact both in 2024 and across their careers. Specifically, 10 AUEB faculty members are recognized for their scientific performance in 2024, while 16 are included in the career-long impact list.
Commenting on the achievement, AUEB Rector Professor Vassilis Vasdekis emphasized that excellence in research and academic performance has always been a strategic priority for the Athens University of Economics and Business. The latest recognition of the university’s faculty members highlights AUEB’s strong presence on the international research map and its significant contribution to the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
“The university extends its warm congratulations to the distinguished faculty and expresses its best wishes for their continued success in academic and research endeavours,” Vasdekis said.
