Groom Trapped in Elevator on Way to Wedding, Freed by Firefighters

A groom in Xanthi got stuck in an elevator minutes before his ceremony. Firefighters freed him just in time for him to make it to the church

An unbelievable incident in Xanthi has gone viral on TikTok, with a groom as the unlikely hero after he got stuck in an elevator just before his wedding. With the help of the fire department, the man ultimately made it to the church, where his bride was waiting.

The video of the trapped groom has racked up over one million views in just one day, sparking a wave of comments and humor across social media.

“Instead of the groom waiting for the bride, the bride is waiting for the groom,” wrote the TikTok user who posted the clip, which shows the man and his friends stuck inside the elevator shortly before the ceremony.

When family members realized what had happened, they immediately called the fire department. Once a firefighter pried open the elevator doors, six people came out laughing and visibly relieved.

Most of them burst into laughter, thanked the firefighter who had saved both them and the wedding, and then ran off to the church, where the bride was still patiently waiting for her groom.
