Temperatures remain high across Greece, with a slight further rise expected in mainland areas, where they will reach 37 to 38 degrees Celsius and locally up to 39 degrees Celsius in the west. At the same time, the country’s Civil Protection authorities have issued a red alert, warning of a particularly high risk of wildfires breaking out and spreading over the coming days because of strong winds, according to the latest fire danger map.
According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), the weather will generally be clear, with localized cloud cover over mainland areas mainly during the afternoon. Brief showers are expected in mountainous areas, while isolated thunderstorms may develop in eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
Winds will blow from the north at 4 to 6 Beaufort, reaching locally 7 to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean. Temperatures will range from 37 to 39 degrees Celsius on the mainland, up to 33 degrees in island areas, and locally up to 36 degrees in southern Crete and the Dodecanese.

Macedonia, Thrace: The weather will be mostly clear, with localized cloud cover mainly from midday onward. Local showers are expected in eastern Macedonia and Thrace, along with isolated thunderstorms. Conditions are forecast to improve in the evening, except in central Macedonia.
Winds will blow from easterly directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort, gradually strengthening to 6 Beaufort in the east. Temperatures will range from 20 to 37 degrees Celsius and locally 38 degrees in central Macedonia, while temperatures in western Macedonia will be 2 to 3 degrees lower.
Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece, Western Peloponnese: Generally clear weather is expected, with a few temporary clouds during the afternoon over mountainous areas, where localized showers may occur. Winds will be northwesterly at 4 to 6 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 24 to 38 degrees Celsius and locally 39 degrees.
Thessaly, Eastern Central Greece, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese: The weather will be generally clear, with a few temporary clouds over the mountains of Thessaly during the afternoon, where localized showers may occur. Winds will blow from easterly directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 24 to 38 degrees Celsius, reaching locally 39 degrees in Thessaly.
Cyclades, Crete: Clear weather. Winds will blow from northerly directions at 5 to 7 Beaufort, locally reaching 8 Beaufort in the southeast. Temperatures will range from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, reaching locally 35 degrees in southern Crete.
Eastern Aegean Islands – Dodecanese: Clear weather is expected. Winds will blow from northerly directions at 5 to 7 Beaufort, locally reaching 8 Beaufort in the south. Temperatures will range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius, reaching locally 36 to 37 degrees in the southernmost parts of the Dodecanese.
Attica: Generally clear weather. Winds will blow from easterly directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort, becoming northeasterly at up to 6 Beaufort in eastern areas from the evening. Temperatures will range from 25 to 37-38 degrees Celsius.
Thessaloniki: The weather will be generally clear, with a few temporary clouds during the afternoon over the surrounding mountains, where localized showers may occur. Winds will be variable at 2 to 3 Beaufort, becoming southeasterly at 3 to 5 Beaufort from midday. Temperatures will range from 23 to 36 degrees Celsius.
