Severe weather is expected to hit Greece starting Wednesday evening, with heavy rainfall forecast across multiple regions, including Attica and western Greece, which is still recovering from previous storms.
Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafyllias warned that some areas could see more than 150 millimeters of rain per square meter over a period of three to four days. The intense storms are expected to affect western and northern Greece, the northern and eastern Aegean, and the Dodecanese islands.
Rainfall is predicted to begin on Tuesday in western parts of the country, gradually spreading from Wednesday night through Saturday to the affected areas. Temperatures are expected to remain relatively high despite the heavy rain.
In Attica, the capital region, the rain will intensify starting early Friday morning, with local authorities urging residents to take precautions against flooding and adverse weather conditions.
