A 90-year-old man suffering from dementia who went missing outside a village in northern Greece for four days was found alive on Friday during a large-scale search.
The man was found visibly exhausted approximately 300 meters from his home. He had reportedly become entangled in a dense bed of tall reeds.
He was reported missing for the village of Mavrovouni, Pella prefecture, on Tuesday, and reportedly survived without food and water in overnight temperatures between 6C and 9C.
Police, fire brigade and K-9 units had searched for the man, while a “Silver Alert” notification had been issued in the country.
The elderly man was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution and, according to reports, was listed in good health with only minor abrasions.
