A disturbing incident occurred early Wednesday morning on a ferry heading to Crete, where four schoolgirls on a class trip were reportedly confronted by a naked man who entered their cabin.
According to local reports, the 45-year-old man, reportedly of Bulgarian nationality, left his own cabin around 2:30 a.m. and entered the cabin where the students from the 1st EPAL Acharnon were staying. He allegedly locked the door, causing panic among the girls, who began screaming for help.
Witnesses reported that the man eventually opened the door and returned to his own cabin. Other students, alerted by the commotion, approached the cabin and confronted him. A brief scuffle ensued, during which the students restrained the man and brought him, injured, to the ferry’s lounge.
The ferry crew intervened immediately, providing the man with clothing and confining him in a designated area until he could be transferred to the garage section. Authorities arrived the following morning to take him into custody.
