A 32-year-old man was killed and another man was injured after a violent altercation turned deadly Tuesday afternoon in the village of Kouloúra in Imathia, northern Greece.

The incident took place shortly before 4 p.m., according to initial information, when a 47-year-old man became involved in a heated dispute with two local residents.

The argument escalated, with the 47-year-old allegedly punching one of the two men before pulling out a knife and stabbing the second man in the chest, causing fatal injuries.

The two victims, aged 62 and 32, were taken to the Hospital of Veria, where doctors confirmed the younger man’s death. The 62-year-old man remains hospitalized with injuries.

Police officers who arrived at the scene located the suspected attacker and arrested him.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances that led to the confrontation or what may have triggered the dispute.
