Greece’s open-air markets will shut down on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, after the General Confederation of Producers and Professional Sellers of Industrial Goods declared a 24-hour strike.

In a statement on social media platforms, the Confederation said the action is part of a series of “dynamic mobilizations” aimed at securing solutions to ongoing sector problems. The strike is a protest by producers and market vendors against the upcoming implementation of the electronic delivery note system, imputed taxation, and what they describe as continuous and burdensome tax obligations.

Representatives from the sector also expressed support for the agricultural protests planned for the coming days.
