New details have come to light about the person who reported the Pizza Fan tax evasion ring.

According to the television program “Exelixeis Tora,” the “deep throat” in the Pizza Fan case is a senior executive of the company who had been a close associate of its owner for 10 years and who often gave interviews to the media.

What the Complaint Said

According to the program, this person filed a complaint about six months ago, stating the following about the ring:

“I wish to report that all franchise stores operating under the Pizza Fan name, as well as the company-owned stores, register their employees for fewer hours than they actually work. They also pay lower social security contributions than required by law.

“I also report that part of the store network’s profit comes from not paying all the VAT owed to the state. Instead, they do not issue legal receipts for orders, and they use a special algorithm for this purpose. The legal receipts that are issued cover only 20% of actual orders.

“Of course, this entire system is overseen by the company’s accounting department. The mastermind behind this fraud is the owner of Pizza Fan. This is a criminal organization aimed at tax evasion.”

The SMS That Implicate “Mr. Pizza Fan”

The program’s report shows how the takings of Pizza Fan stores were recorded, as well as the amounts moved outside the official accounts.

Employees were required to report the store’s financial figures every day by SMS, using specific abbreviations and codes.

“Exelixeis Tora” presented one of these messages, in which the daily turnover was listed as “TZ” and amounted to 2,220.73 euros. Under the label “FAN” appeared Pizza Fan’s share from the franchise, which came to 982.62 euros, along with separate entries for credit card and POS transactions.

However, according to the report, this message was followed by a second SMS that listed only a single amount, with no other explanation. In this case, the amount was 1,468.78 euros and corresponded to money that was not officially declared.

The same message also included entries for invoices and canceled receipts.
