A search and rescue operation is ongoing in Fokida for three hikers who went missing on Christmas morning near the village of Athanasios Diakos.
The three friends had set out for a nature hike surrounding the village but did not return, and their mobile phones are unreachable. Concerned family members alerted local authorities, prompting the deployment of police and firefighting teams.
The operation involves firefighters from the Amfissa and Lidoriki units, along with the 7th ΕΜΑΚ Mountain Rescue Team, which joined the search Thursday night. Drone units from Larisa are assisting with aerial surveillance to locate the hikers.
Authorities have reported that adverse weather conditions are complicating the search. Efforts are ongoing, and officials are urging caution for anyone traveling in the mountainous region.
