A wave of fear has hit Piraeus as an unidentified man reportedly followed and sexually harassed a woman in the early hours of Monday morning. Authorities are investigating whether he is connected to a series of similar attacks in the nearby Alimos area.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:38 a.m. when a 35-year-old woman was walking to work along Chatzikyriakou Avenue. Video footage obtained by Greek broadcaster MEGA shows the man following her, gradually closing the distance before seizing an opportunity to attack.

According to the victim, the assailant is described as having dark skin, black hair, and dark eyes, standing between 1.65 and 1.70 meters tall. He was reportedly carrying a backpack and kept his left hand in his pocket during the incident.

After the attack, the woman went to a local police station to report the incident. She was shown photographs of individuals previously involved in similar cases but did not recognize any of them as her attacker.

Meanwhile, in Alimos, police continue to investigate another assault allegedly committed by a man with a history of psychiatric issues. Authorities are assessing whether this case and the Piraeus attack are linked.

Police are currently reviewing security camera footage and gathering eyewitness accounts to identify the suspect. Officials are urging residents to remain vigilant while authorities work to apprehend the man.
