On Thursday, October 9, 2025, weather conditions in Greece will improve significantly. Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected early in the day in the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese, but these will quickly subside, giving way to clearer skies. The rest of the country will enjoy mostly sunny weather with only a few scattered clouds.
Temperatures will rise, reaching more seasonable levels for early October. In Western Macedonia, values will range from 2 to 16°C, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 6 to 20°C, in Thessaly from 6 to 23°C, in Epirus from 6 to 20°C, in other mainland regions from 8 to 24°C, in the Ionian Islands from 10 to 21°C, and in the Aegean islands and Crete from 11 to 23°C.
Winds will blow from the northwest across the country, generally light to moderate—up to 4 Beaufort on the mainland and Ionian, and up to 5 Beaufort in the Aegean. In the area of Kastellorizo, stronger westerly winds of 5–6 Beaufort are expected.
In Athens, sunshine will prevail throughout the day. Winds will blow from the west-northwest at 2–4 Beaufort, and temperatures will range between 12 and 22°C.
In Thessaloniki, a few passing clouds are expected, but overall the weather will remain pleasant. Northwesterly winds will reach 3–5 Beaufort, and temperatures will range from 10 to 20°C.
New Storm Incoming
After a brief break in the unsettled conditions, Greece appears set to face another round of autumnal weather by mid-next week. A new storm system is expected to sweep across the country from Wednesday or Thursday next week, bringing rain, falling temperatures, and strong winds.
