Μake us preferred on Google A juvenile court in Karditsa sentenced a 17-year-old to eight years in prison for the murder of singer George Tsitoglou, a well-known performer in the central Greek city.
The Three-Member Juvenile Court accepted the prosecutor’s recommendation and convicted the teenager, finding that he was in a calm state of mind at the time of the killing.
The court acquitted a 16-year-old who had been charged with aiding and abetting the homicide, according to Greece’s public broadcaster ERT.
The proceedings were held behind closed doors.
Singer found fatally stabbed
Tsitoglou was found stabbed to death on the morning of Sunday, March 22, in the Kaminades area of Karditsa.
According to information cited in the case, the singer was at a residence when two young people visited him. A heated argument broke out between them, with authorities investigating the circumstances and motive behind the confrontation.
The dispute escalated, and Tsitoglou was attacked with a knife and suffered fatal injuries.
The two young people left the scene following the incident. Security camera footage became an important piece of evidence in the investigation and helped authorities identify the two suspects.
