A violent altercation involving minors in the Athens suburb of Neo Irakleio on the evening of Monday, July 14, has left one teenager seriously injured and resulted in five arrests, according to initial reports.
The incident occurred in the central square of Neo Irakleio, where a physical confrontation between six underage individuals escalated quickly. During the fight, one of the teenagers was stabbed in the back and had to be rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. His condition has not yet been officially updated.
Police Investigating Motive Behind the Attack
Authorities have confirmed that the clash involved teenagers of both Greek and Egyptian backgrounds. While the motive behind the confrontation remains unclear, police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the outbreak of violence.
Five individuals have already been arrested in connection with the incident. Officers are continuing to gather evidence and testimonies in order to clarify what caused the brawl and whether additional suspects were involved.
