Temporary traffic regulations will be introduced in Piraeus on Sunday, 10 May 2026, as the city hosts a stage of the national cycling event known as the Tour of Hellas.
According to local traffic authorities, rolling road closures will begin early in the morning to ensure the safe conduct of the race. Measures will affect several major streets and coastal routes, particularly in the city’s port area and surrounding avenues.
Roads Affected by Closures
From approximately 06:00 local time, traffic will be gradually suspended along key routes including Kanari Square, Akti Moutsopoulou, Papastanasiou Avenue, Tzavella Street, and the New Coastal Poseidonos Avenue, heading towards the southern suburbs.
The race route begins at the intersection of Grigoriou Lampraki Street and Akti Moutsopoulou and continues along designated lanes through the affected road network.
Parking Restrictions and Vehicle Removal
In preparation for the event, all parking spaces along the designated roads must remain free.
Parking will be prohibited from the evening of Friday, 8 May 2026, along the affected streets. Vehicles remaining in restricted zones will be removed by tow trucks under traffic police orders.
A designated support and parking area for the event has been assigned near Clock Square, in a central triangular zone formed by Grigoriou Lampraki Street, Akti Moutsopoulou, and Bouboulina Street.
Drivers are advised to follow instructions from traffic officers and respect temporary signage throughout the event.
