A flight from Manchester to Rhodes made an emergency landing at Thessaloniki’s Macedonia Airport on Wednesday night after two passengers caused a disturbance on board.
According to police, the two passengers, British nationals aged 39 and 42, behaved aggressively toward members of the crew and other passengers.
They also refused to follow instructions from the crew and the captain, disrupting order and the normal operation of the aircraft’s cabin.
Passengers arrested after landing
The 39-year-old recorded members of the airline staff, while the 42-year-old was found to have smoked inside the aircraft’s restroom.
After the plane landed in Thessaloniki, officers from the Thessaloniki Airport Police Division arrested both men.
They are expected to appear before a prosecutor. The aircraft subsequently departed normally for its destination.
