A passenger accused of causing serious disruption aboard an international flight was arrested after the aircraft made an emergency landing in northern Greece.

The incident occurred on a flight traveling from Manchester, United Kingdom, to Antalya, Turkey. According to police, a 39-year-old foreign national was visibly intoxicated during the journey and began causing disturbances while the aircraft was in the air.

Authorities said the man displayed aggressive behavior toward both cabin crew and fellow passengers, creating significant disruption on board.

As a result of the situation, the pilot decided to divert the aircraft and carry out an unscheduled landing at Thessaloniki’s airport to ensure the safety and order of the flight.

Police officers were waiting for the aircraft upon arrival and arrested the passenger shortly after landing. According to the police statement, the man is facing charges related to dangerous interference with air transport, failure to comply with the captain’s instructions, and disturbing public order.
