A gradual change in weather conditions is expected across Greece starting today, Sunday, April 19, 2026, according to the National Meteorological Service. Much of the mainland will experience localized rainfall and periods of cloudiness, particularly during midday and afternoon hours, while other regions will remain mostly clear.
Partly cloudy skies will prevail over the Ionian Sea, mainland areas, and Kastellorizo, with intervals of thicker cloud bringing brief local showers, especially in mountainous regions. Elsewhere, weather conditions will be generally fair, with only limited cloud cover over northern Crete and parts of the northern Aegean. Visibility may be locally restricted in western areas during the evening.
Winds in the west, central, and northern regions will be southerly at 3 to 4 Beaufort. In contrast, northerly winds of 4 to 5 Beaufort will dominate elsewhere, reaching up to 6 Beaufort in the Aegean and locally 7 in southeastern areas. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, ranging from 19°C to 21°C in most areas, reaching 22°C in the Dodecanese and eastern mainland, and up to 23°C in the west.
In Macedonia and Thrace, cloud cover will increase at times, with possible morning showers in central Macedonia and brief afternoon rainfall, mainly in mountainous areas. Western regions, including the Ionian Islands and Epirus, will see similar conditions, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of showers during the warmer hours.
Eastern regions such as Thessaly and Evia will enjoy mostly fair weather, though isolated afternoon showers may occur inland. The Cyclades and Crete will remain largely clear, with stronger winds gradually easing. Attica will see mostly clear conditions with temporary cloud cover, while Thessaloniki may experience intermittent showers before improving later in the day.
