Α bizarre car-related fatality on Monday involved a 71-year-old woman who was apparently crushed between an open passenger’s door and a tree when trying to help the driver, her daughter, parallel park.

The incident was reported in the west Attica prefecture city of Elefsina, due west of the Athens-Piraeus agglomeration.

The vehicle was reportedly moving in reverse when the unfortunate woman was wedged between the open car door and a tree on the sidewalk. She was fatally injured in the head and bled profusely.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she was listed as dead on arrival. Her daughter, 44, and the apparently poor driver, was arrested for involuntary homicide.
