Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas might be experiencing a dark patch in his career, but the once 3rd-ranked player appears to be in high spirits. After crashing out of the men’s singles at the Indian Wells Open tournament in California in the first round to Canada’s Denis Shapovalov in straight sets, the 27-year-old Greek was seen shopping with tennis legend Novak Djokovic.
Tsitsipas will continue his campaign in California as he will team up with the Serb GOAT in the doubles at Indian Wells. The Greek shared a humorous photo on his social media with Nole, who recently moved his family to Athens, pushing a shopping cart with the Greek inside.
“Your new Indian Wells doubles pairing. Can’t wait to team up with @DjokerNole”, he captioned the picture. Tsitsipas and Djokovic will square off against Mate Pavic from Croatia and Marcelo Arevalo from El Salvador for a spot in the second round.
After his loss to Shapovalov, Tsitsipas plummeted to 50th in the ATP rankings, and he might even drop further in the rankings. The funny post of Novak pushing Tsitsipas in the shopping cart could be a good start for the Greek to get his career back on track…
