Greek gymnastics icon Lefteris Petrounias added yet another accolade to his glittering collection on Sunday evening, capturing the gold medal at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup event in Cairo.

Widely known as the “Lord of the Rings,” Petrounias delivered a commanding performance on his signature apparatus, earning a score of 14.366. His routine secured him first place ahead of Armenia’s Vahagn Davtyan and Artur Avetisyan, as well as China’s Liu, who rounded out the podium.

The triumph comes shortly after his silver-medal finish in Baku, reaffirming the Greek champion’s enduring presence among the world’s elite. With consistency and composure, Petrounias continues to demonstrate why he remains a dominant force in international gymnastics.

Looking ahead, the decorated athlete has already set his sights on the 2028 Summer Olympics, where he aims to once again reach the podium and further cement his remarkable legacy.
