New legislation ensures parents with three children retain special public sector hiring advantages for life, while children enjoy extended eligibility for certain government recruitment benefits

Ministry of Environment and Energy has officially announced the framework for electricity subsidies targeting approximately one million businesses across Greece.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke about his newly-announced €1 billion support package during a visit to the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family on Wednesday, stating “Affordable housing is a right for everyone and an obligation of the State.”

This package includes two key measures: a rent refund program for tenants and a yearly allowance for low-income pensioners.

The electronic platform for submitting Child Benefit applications, A21, will re-open at 08:00 on Monday, March 31, 2025.

The platform for 2025 child benefit applications will be open from March 1 to March 14, with eligibility based on declared dependents and family income

The possibility of employment is extended to the sixth day of the week in businesses operating continuously, implementing a five-day work system with alternating shifts, with additional work compensated at a 40% increase.

As a result a series of benefits will need to be cut, particularly in terms of the monetary support currently provided by the organization
