A 50-year-old woman says she “survived by a miracle” after swerving into a ditch to avoid an 89-year-old man who drove the wrong way for 10 kilometers on a major motorway

An 89-year-old man drove for about 10 kilometers in the wrong direction on a major highway before police stopped him, after another driver crashed while trying to avoid a head-on collision.

Traffic has been diverted creating significant congestion toward Western Macedonia, as large numbers of Greeks have departed Athens ahead of the Easter holiday.
