Thousands of users are experiencing problems with Meta’s apps Wednesday afternoon (July 22), with disruptions reported on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger both in Greece and other countries. Users report trouble logging into accounts, sending and receiving Messenger messages, and loading content on the platforms.
Hundreds of reports on DownDetector
DownDetector, the site that tracks real-time outages for online services, received hundreds of reports of malfunctions across the three Meta apps from multiple countries, including Greece.
Meta has not yet issued an official statement on the cause of the problems or when service is expected to be fully restored.
This isn’t the first time Meta’s platforms have had technical issues; similar outages affecting Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger were reported in recent days as well.
