Elon Musk launched a new wave of criticism against the European Union after the European Commission announced a €120 million fine against his social media platform X for alleged transparency violations.
Through multiple posts on X, Musk claimed that “the European Union is not a democracy – rule by the people – but rather a bureaucracy – rule by unelected bureaucrats.” He described the EU as a “tyrannical, unelected bureaucracy oppressing the peoples of Europe,” explicitly referencing Brussels and Strasbourg.

Musk also reshared a post mocking European critics who advise Americans not to interfere in European politics, noting their history of criticizing former U.S. President Donald Trump. He added that “there are so many politicians in Europe who are betrayers of their own people,” continuing his harsh rhetoric toward EU institutions and officials.
