The Kremlin has rejected recent U.S. intelligence reports suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to capture all of Ukraine and reclaim parts of Europe that were once part of the Soviet Union.

Reuters cited six unidentified sources indicating that U.S. intelligence officials remain concerned about Putin’s alleged ambitions, which reportedly include targeting NATO member countries.

However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday that Moscow questioned the credibility of the sources and firmly denied the claims. “This is absolutely not true,” Peskov said, emphasizing that if the Reuters report is accurate, the U.S. conclusions are wrong.

The comments came shortly after Putin’s annual press conference in Moscow, where he addressed questions about international security and Russia’s posture in Europe. The Kremlin’s response underscores ongoing tensions over how U.S. and Russian officials interpret each other’s military and geopolitical intentions.
