One of the more high-profile weddings of the season in Greece took place on Saturday in a more-or-less unlikely location, the north-central town of Litochoro, beneath the shadow of Mt. Olympus, with the son of three-time Olympic weightlifting gold medalist Pyrros Dimas, Victor, marrying Karin Nagano, a noted pianist and the daughter of Japanese-American conductor Kent Nagano and the Japanese concert pianist Mari Kodama..

Kodama had earlier posted photographs of the engaged couple last February on her social media.

Victor and Karin were married in a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding at the Cathedral of St. Demetrius.

Karin Nagano, a native Californian, has played in international music events and concerts since the age of nine.

In February 2014 she released a disc on the Analekta label with the Cecilia Quartet featuring two of Mozart’s early piano concertos, Nos. 12 & 13, followed in 2017 with a second recording on Analekta featuring Bach’s Inventions & Sinfonies.
