The northwest Epirus province has been inundated by precipitation over the last two days, according to data from the National Observatory of Athens’ Meteo service, with the rainfall and snowfall – in higher altitudes – continuing.
The cumulative rainfall in the Epirus mountains has exceeded 250 millimeters until 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, according to the network of digital weather stations. A weather station at Katarraktis (waterfall) site in Arta prefecture received the most rain (287 mm), while more than 100 mm was recorded at another 25 stations.

Floods, landslides and snowfall
Landslides, damage to roads and water supply networks, power outages and snowfall, which began on Thursday morning, were the results of the inclement weather in the region. The Louros River was reported as being on the verge of overflowing, while the Kalamas River has overflowed, resulting in traffic disruptions.
