Dusk clouds blown by southerly winds from the Sahara are expected to affect Greece this weekend, according to AtmoHub, an information hub for atmospheric composition the east Mediterranean country.
AtmoHub reports that following the passage of a low front and the temporary letup in rainfall, a new round of North African desert dust is expected to affect Greece.
The phenomenon will initially be felt in eastern Greece before spreading across the country, reaching even northern regions.
According to AtmoHub, the dust in the atmosphere will continue until early next week, peaking on Sunday. The areas most affected will be south and central Greece (Crete, the Peloponnese, central Greece, and the Aegean and Ionian islands). In northern regions, a combination of North African dust and rainfall is expected to generate muddy precipitation.
