The Megaron Garden at the Athens Concert Hall will welcome the acclaimed music and dance ensemble Encardia on Saturday, July 4, at 9:00 p.m., for an interactive outdoor performance that promises to transform the audience from spectators into participants.
With 22 years of continuous activity, thousands of concerts in Greece and abroad, two music-theater productions, seven digital albums, and a documentary to its name, Encardia has built a reputation for reinventing every live performance. No two concerts are the same, with each one approached as if it were the group’s first.
For this summer’s appearance at the Megaron Garden, the ensemble will draw from its extensive repertoire while introducing new musical directions. The program will move from the traditional music of Southern Italy—which has long defined Encardia’s artistic identity—to the rich traditions of Greek folk music, while also offering fresh interpretations of works by Greek poets.
The performance is designed as a musical journey that begins with nostalgia before building toward an energetic celebration.
Audience participation remains central to Encardia’s approach. Rather than simply watching the performance, attendees will be invited to sing, dance alongside the group’s dancers, and become part of the experience.
