A reception featuring Lenten delicacies accompanied the 33rd Golden Caps Greece 2026 awards ceremony on Monday evening at a central Athens, with well-known local chef and television personality Ektoras Botrini once again emerging as the “big winner” amongst restaurants and culinary professionals in Greece.
A total of 45 entrepreneurs and chefs from across Greece were honored with the Golden Cap, the country’s highest gastronomic distinction, rewarding an ever-advancing status of restaurants and eateries in the country and raising the “bar” for Greece’s epicurean scene.
The Golden Caps Greece 2026 awards ceremony, organized by a local digital media brand focused on culture, dining, and city life, this year celebrated its 50 years of presence.

Botrini again takes away top honors
The flagship restaurant of chef Ektoras Botrini, “Etrusco”, on his native Ionian Sea Island of Corfu, was once again named the best restaurant in Greece – for the 14th consecutive year – with a score of 17/20 and two Golden Caps.
Second place was shared by “Botrini’s Athens” and “Delta”, which both received 16.5/20 and two Golden Caps.
The Chef Pâtissier 2026 award was given to Giannis Kikiris, while the 2026 Audience Award was presented to the Athenian restaurant “Sushimou”.
