Ingredients

  • 700 g of chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Sesame oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the breasts into long strips or small pieces.
  2. In a food bag, combine the flour with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  3. Place the beaten eggs in a shallow dish.
  4. Mix the breadcrumbs with the Parmesan cheese in a separate bowl. Spread the mixture on a non-stick paper-lined tray.
  5. Coat the chicken pieces well with flour mixture.
  6. Dip each piece into the beaten egg, let excess drip off, and then coat with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture.
  7. Place them on the oiled tray until all pieces are coated.
  8. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set the coating for the chicken strips.

On the stove

  1. Heat 3 tablespoons of sesame oil in a shallow non-stick pan over medium to high heat. Fry for 3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and fry for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

In the oven

  1. Alternatively, preheat the oven to 200°C and place a baking sheet to warm up. Brush it with oil and arrange the breaded sticks. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden, then flip and bake for another 8 minutes or until cooked through. Serve with homemade ketchup.

Enjoy!
