Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 1 batch of ready-made pizza dough
  • A little flour for rolling out

For the filling:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 200 g grated mozzarella
  • 6 thin slices of ham
  • A few fresh basil leaves

Instructions 

  1. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough with a rolling pin, sprinkling flour as needed. The dough should be very thin.
  2. Spread spoonfuls of tomato sauce over the entire surface of the pizza.
  3. Place the ham in very thin slices, leaving a 2 cm border around the edge of the dough.
  4. Sprinkle with mozzarella, reserving 2 to 3 tbsp of grated mozzarella for the end.
  5. Add the fresh basil leaves.
  6. Fold the sides of the dough inward by about 1/3, almost to the middle of the dough.
  7. Brush the folded side of the dough with a little tomato sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella.
  9. Fold again to form a wide roll.
  10. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  11. Place the pizza seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  12. Brush with a little olive oil.
  13. Lightly poke a few holes in the surface of the dough.
  14. Bake in a well-preheated oven at 180°C on the middle rack for about 30 minutes until the pizza roll is well browned.
  15. Let it stand for a few minutes and cut into thick slices.
  16. Enjoy the pizza warm with a salad.
