  • 400 g sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp vinegar with rosemary and thyme
  • 1 cup water
  • Some fresh thyme or oregano

For serving:

  • Toasted bread
  • Salty cheese


  1. Place the finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes, onion, and garlic in a saucepan over low heat. Let them soften for a few minutes.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients and cover the saucepan. Simmer over very low heat for about 30 minutes until it reaches a jam-like consistency.
  3. Store in the refrigerator for a long time.
  4. This mixture pairs perfectly with warm toasted bruschetta, complements pasta and poultry dishes, and is also unique in salads.
