Ruling conservative New Democracy (ND) leads second-placed PASOK in the latest opinion poll conducted by Interview. Although ND still maintains a double-digit lead over PASOK, Prime Minister Mitsotakis failed to reverse the government’s negative momentum despite his recent pledges to raise one-off payments to pensioners and rent subsidies.
At the same time, the survey shows a rise in support for PASOK, which has reclaimed second place, while support for the left-wing party Course of Freedom has declined.
The poll also highlights the low electoral ceilings for all parties, suggesting that no single party appears capable of securing an outright majority. This development could make political alliances or new formations increasingly necessary.
Specifically, in the poll conducted for Politic, New Democracy shows a slight increase, while PASOK benefits mainly from the 1.7-point drop recorded by Course of Freedom compared to March. SYRIZA also continues to decline, losing 1.6 percentage points since March.
In response to the question, “If elections were held next Sunday, which party would you vote for?”, New Democracy leads with 24.3%, followed by PASOK at 11.5%. Course of Freedom comes in third with 11%, while Greek Solution gathers 8%, the Communist Party (KKE) 7%, SYRIZA 4%, the Democracy Movement 3.9%, Voice of Logic 3.4%, MeRA25 3.4%, and NIKI 3.2%.
Nearly one in four citizens in the Interview poll were distrustful of any political leader, according to the latest findings. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis leads with 29.7% in terms of trust, but “None of the above” follows closely behind at 27.3%.
Meanwhile, the remaining party leaders register extremely low approval ratings, appearing unable to channel the growing public discontent.
