Greek taxpayers are being reminded to check their pre-filled tax declarations, as the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has sent emails to approximately 1.5 million citizens, primarily salaried employees and pensioners.

The emails provide instructions for reviewing, confirming, or updating the pre-filled information. If no action is taken, the declarations will be automatically submitted by the AADE on April 16, 2026. Taxpayers who wish to make corrections can submit their initial declaration until April 15 or file an amended declaration without penalties from April 17 through July 15, 2026.

Authorities emphasize the importance of verifying details such as dependents, income, taxes withheld, social security contributions, electronic purchases, property and vehicle data, and IBAN numbers. Errors or omissions may result in additional financial obligations.

AADE’s message to recipients highlights that the pre-filled data reflects the information currently available to the authority. Any updates to a taxpayer’s data before submission will be automatically considered in calculating tax obligations, while changes after submission require filing an amended declaration if the taxpayer agrees with the adjustments.
