18-Year-Old Arrested After Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend

Police arrested her former boyfriend after she was found injured on a street in the Athens suburb and told officers he had attacked her with a sharp object during a planned meeting

An 18-year-old woman was hospitalized after being attacked by her former boyfriend in Kallithea, a southern suburb of Athens, Greek police said Tuesday.

The 18-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges related to domestic violence and theft.

Woman found injured on street

The incident came to light when a passing police vehicle spotted the young woman injured on a street in the area.

She had suffered a minor injury to her leg and was taken by ambulance to Laiko Hospital in Athens, where she received first aid.

According to the woman’s account to police, she had arranged to meet her former boyfriend. When she arrived at the meeting point, he attacked her suddenly with a sharp object, without any prior incident between them.

Suspect arrested in Kallithea

Police launched a search for the 18-year-old and located him on Laskaridou Street in Kallithea, where he was arrested.

He was subsequently taken to the Kallithea Domestic Violence Department, where a case was filed against him for domestic violence.

He is also accused of theft, as he took the young woman’s cellphone.
