Μake us preferred on Google A violent robbery targeting an 85-year-old kiosk owner in Chania, Crete, has shocked the local community.
The elderly man was at his home, next to his business, when a robber entered while he was sleeping. According to the information available, the attacker stole €500, two cellphones and jewelry.
The robbery turned particularly brutal when the assailant tried to remove several rings from the man’s fingers. Because his fingers were swollen and the rings could not be removed, the robber used a cutting tool to cut the rings off his hand and take them.
The attacker also stabbed the 85-year-old in order to steal his watch before tying him up and locking him inside the house.
The situation became even more dangerous when the tracheostomy device the elderly man uses fell onto the floor during the robbery. He was left helpless and panicked, unable to communicate or call for help.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are searching for the suspect.
