A 17-year-old boy has been pronounced brain dead after falling from a hotel balcony in the Athens suburb of Chalandri early Friday morning.

The 17-year-old British tourist was standing on the balcony of a hotel in the area when, under circumstances that remain under investigation, he fell from the balcony at around 5:00 a.m.

The 36-year-old employee was arrested and faces charges of exposing another person to a life-threatening situation resulting in death, as well as violating Greece’s tobacco and alcohol laws.
