Μake us preferred on Google Greece is moving Patriot missile systems from the island of Karpathos to Crete, according to sources at the Ministry of National Defense.
The relocation is intended to strengthen the protection of the strategic air base at Souda Bay, on Crete.
The move confirms earlier assessments by the Ministry of National Defense that the systems could be relocated if the situation in the Middle East deteriorated.
The transfer of the Patriot systems is currently underway.
