A shocking video has captured a serious traffic accident in Kolonos, Athens, on Saturday afternoon, which left a 49-year-old motorcyclist seriously injured.
The footage, captured from a taxis’ camera, shows the motorcycle traveling normally through an intersection, just seconds after the traffic light had turned green. A dark-colored passenger car suddenly appears at speed and runs a red light.
The car strikes the motorcyclist and drags him several meters before he is thrown from his vehicle and lands on the road.
The young man suffered serious injuries and was taken by an ambulance to the General State Hospital of Nikaia, where he remains hospitalized.
According to the taxi driver, the woman driving the car that crashed into the motorcycle was around 25 years old and claims that she did not run a red light.
