A 76-year-old woman was attacked and robbed in the Analipsi area of Thessaloniki after a man pushed her to the ground and grabbed her bag.
According to police, the incident took place on Sunday evening when a 49-year-old man approached the woman, knocked her onto the road and took her handbag. The bag reportedly contained €126, bank cards and personal documents.
Police located and arrested the suspect shortly after the incident. The woman was taken to a hospital in Thessaloniki, where she received first aid for her injuries.
In a separate case in the Toumba area of Thessaloniki, a 51-year-old woman used a fake charity collection as a way to gain access to a 72-year-old man’s apartment.
Police said the woman convinced the elderly man to let her enter his home, where she stole a small amount of money and a bank card.
The 51-year-old was identified by authorities, and a case file was opened against her over the alleged theft.
