The victim, a former athletics champion, was returning home from a cemetery visit when the attack took place. According to reports, she had briefly stopped her car near a roadside viewpoint when three individuals approached the vehicle. Witness accounts cited by local media suggest that one of the suspects was wearing a hood, while the other two were believed to be minors.

The attackers allegedly smashed the passenger-side window of the car using stones and wooden objects before launching a coordinated assault on the woman and grabbing her handbag from inside the vehicle.

After the initial attack, the victim reportedly attempted to resist, but was kicked and pushed by the assailants. During the struggle, she fell into a roadside ditch, sustaining serious injuries. The suspects then fled on foot, crossing both lanes of a nearby highway before disappearing from view.
