A ferry traveling from Thessaloniki to Greece’s Sporades islands departed at full capacity on Monday morning, carrying 800 passengers bound for the popular summer destinations of Skiathos, Skopelos, and Alonissos.
Demand for the route has remained consistently high throughout July, with occupancy exceeding 90%, making it one of the most important seasonal ferry connections for residents of Thessaloniki and northern Greece.
The service operates five times a week and attracts travelers of all ages, including young people, families with children, and older passengers heading to the islands for their summer vacations.
Many passengers said they had planned shorter trips of four to five days, citing tighter household budgets. At the same time, they described ferry ticket prices as remaining at reasonable levels.
