The Greek parliament plenum received 10 children and their mothers from Gaza on a humanitarian initiative organized by the leader of the Greek party “Course of Freedom,” Zoe Konstantopoulou.

Greek parties across the board welcomed the children, their mothers accompanied by the representative of the Palestinian Authority in Athens, expressing their unwavering support for any humanitarian actions for the Palestinians in Gaza.

The deputy minister of finance, George Kotsiras, underlined that Greece is at the forefront of every humanitarian effort aimed at restoring normalcy in Gaza.

Greece “leads every humanitarian initiative aimed at restoring the flow of aid to Gaza and ending the hostilities,” Zoe Konstantopoulou said, stressing the importance of children’s presence at a recent event.

“These people of Palestine are here today to remind us that very close to us, children are being killed, mutilated, and losing their families,” she said, noting that about 20,000 children have fallen victim to what she described as genocide in Gaza. She added that this tragedy was not the result of random events or mistakes but “a policy of genocide” that, she argued, the Greek government must condemn and denounce while calling for action to end the suffering.

Earlier, Parliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis personally welcomed Palestinian children, their mothers, and the Palestinian ambassador. In a moving gesture, he said, “Ms. Konstantopoulou and I have no children—you are our children.” The warm reception and open embrace of Gaza’s war victims in the Greek Parliament became a focal point of the visit, underscoring the symbolic power of solidarity in times of crisis.
