A further 6,000 households in Greece are being added to the government’s “I Change Water Heater” program, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
With the new approvals, the total number of accepted applications has surpassed 146,000, increasing access to financial support for households seeking to install more energy-efficient equipment for hot water production.
The additional approvals come with a public funding commitment of more than €21.5 million. The program aims to improve household water heating systems, promote environmentally friendly solutions and help reduce energy consumption.
Beneficiaries can track the progress of their applications through the program’s digital platform. They can also select an approved supplier and suitable equipment from the official supplier and equipment registries.
The deadline for reserving and redeeming the vouchers included in the fourth approval decision has been set for June 25, 2026, allowing beneficiaries time to complete the required steps.
