Greece is expected to enjoy mostly sunny weather and a slight rise in temperatures on Monday, October 19, with highs reaching 24 degrees Celsius in some areas, according to forecasts from the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) and the National Observatory of Athens’ meteo service.

Skies will remain generally clear across the country, with only limited local cloud cover. However, visibility may be reduced during the night and early morning, and fog is expected to form in some areas.

Winds will blow from the south at 3 to 4 Beaufort in the northern Aegean. Elsewhere, they will generally come from the north and northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort in the southeastern Aegean and temporarily 6 Beaufort during the morning.

Temperatures will reach 20–22 °C in most parts of the country, rising to 23 °C in the Ionian Islands, western Greece, Thessaly, Attica and the Dodecanese. Locally, western Peloponnese could see highs of 24 °C.

  • Western Macedonia: 0–17 or 18 °C
  • Rest of Macedonia and Thrace: 4–21 or 22 °C, locally 23 °C
  • Epirus: 6–21 or 23 °C
  • Thessaly: 5–22 or 24 °C
  • Other mainland areas: 6–22 or 23 °C, locally 24 °C
  • Ionian Islands: 9–21 or 23 °C
  • Northern and northeastern Aegean islands: 8–21 or 22 °C
  • Other Aegean islands and Crete: 11–21 or 23 °C

Winds across the Aegean and Ionian seas are forecast to blow mainly from the northwest, reaching up to 4 Beaufort.

Forecast for Athens and Thessaloniki

Attica: Sunny skies with a few thin clouds are expected. Visibility may be locally reduced at night and early in the morning. Winds will mainly come from the south at 2 to 3 Beaufort, while temperatures will range from 13 to 22–23 °C.

Thessaloniki: A few clouds are forecast across the city and surrounding region, with reduced visibility possible overnight and early in the morning. Winds will mainly be northwesterly at 2 to 3 Beaufort. Temperatures in central Thessaloniki will range from 11 to 22 °C.
