Following a comprehensive assessment of conditions in the earthquake-affected areas of Venezuela and in close coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Hellenic Red Cross (HRC) is deploying two teams of volunteer rescuers to support relief operations in the wake of the devastating earthquake.

The two seven-member teams, drawn from the Hellenic Red Cross Volunteer Samaritans, Rescuers and Lifeguards Corps, will carry specialized search-and-rescue equipment, including cutting tools, rescue ropes, drones and the HRC’s trained K9 search dogs. Working alongside volunteers from the Venezuelan Red Cross, they will assist in urban search-and-rescue operations, provide first aid and help address the urgent humanitarian and medical needs of affected communities.
As Greece’s leading humanitarian and volunteer organization, the Hellenic Red Cross once again reaffirms its readiness to respond swiftly to international calls for solidarity, contributing actively to the protection of human life and to relief efforts for disaster-affected populations wherever they may be.
